Take a run around Bathurst with ‘Garry’, a Lotus Exige V6, during Lotus Cars Australia’s February 2020 Lotus-Only Track Day at Mount Panorama.

Wednesday the 5th of February, 2020, saw us kick off the year’s motorsport with a magic mid-week visit to The Mountain, hosted by Lotus Cars Australia and Simply Sports Cars. As always, it was an excellent and social day punctuated by only slightly scary visits to Australia’s most famous race tarmac.

The following video was kindly shared with us, and sees ‘Garry’ being pushed to a personal best 2:34.75 around the mighty mountain. Read on for a few of comments from the day, and then strap in and hit ‘play’!

Garry’s first time on The Mountain after a couple of years driving his rambunctious little brother Larry around here.

PBs everywhere all day, helped by a new top speed at the entrance to the Chase (247kph) and culminating in new personal best time by over 7 seconds of 2:34.75. A nudge to the big boys, rounding out the day at P10 out of 110 cars.

This track is fast and unforgiving. There are new bumps (check out the run up Mountain Straight and down Conrod), which unsettle the car at 200+. Consistent speed through all sectors is critical on this beast. Running on A050s and as always there is plenty of time left over the top… there is always next year!
