Lotus Elite Diamond Jubilee

We’re just a few days away from the biggest Lotus party of the year – the Lotus Elite Diamond Jubilee at Sydney Motorsport Park and Wakefield Park. Put August the 12th to 14th in your diary, and be there!

The big LOTUS party is happening next weekend!

For those arriving on Saturday, the sprint meeting will be under way and we will not have full access to “Lotus Land” until they are finished in the afternoon. The Hotel of course has ample parking around the back for those that need it.

Our celebration dinner is timed at 7 for 7.30pm in the Circuit Room, which has a bar open from 7pm. The Oak Bar downstairs is open from 5pm for those that need earlier refreshment.

We have some wonderful presentations for the Elite owners and messages from luminaries of the era to add to the evening’s enjoyment. Dress code is smart casual. Yes, you can certainly wear your new commemorative shirt!

Those staying at the Alpha Hotel might like to consider an upgrade to the new Club Level. It has Club Lounge privileges including express breakfast and sundown snacks. As breakfast costs $25 normally, the $50 upgrade seems like a reasonable deal. Please contact the hotel direct and tell them you are part of the Lotus group if you are interested (02 8889 7700).

Sunday is a very busy day at the circuit with the entire Sydney Motor Sport Park filled with cars from most clubs in NSW and many trade stands. If you are driving in to the circuit on Sunday morning, be aware that there are 2000 other club cars also arriving, so do not delay your arrival.

We have our annual Concours d’ Elegance and our lunchtime parade is scheduled for 12 noon. We will be leaving from our pits onto the circuit behind a pace car. There is no overtaking. However, unlike all the other clubs, we will stop on the main straight 3 abreast for a special photo opportunity – so make sure you have a designated photographer!

And bring your money for tickets for the cancer charity raffle, which will be selling at the dinner and on Sunday.

The real enthusiasts then head to Wakefield Park for the All Lotus Track day on Monday!
