Sunday the 11th of May found us in the car park above By the Bay Cafe in Carss Park with a near record roll-up to welcome Nigel Halliday, Chairman of the Historic Lotus Register for a relaxed Mothers Day morning get together.
We were very lucky to enjoy a break in the weather that gave us a dry few hours to catch up, and even a brief appearance of the sun. Perhaps the weather was Sydney’s best attempt at making Nigel feel at home.
Thanks to all the mothers who patiently entertained our morning outing on their special day, and everyone who braved the dark skies and came out to say ‘Hi!’. The Lotus marque was very well represented, with Elises of various eras out in force (including three yellow S1 Elise) as well as Elans, Esprits, an Elite and an Emria, a magnificent Rolls and classic 911.
It was lovely to spend the morning together, and particularly to meet and chat with Nigel, who from all accounts greatly enjoyed the morning. We do this twice a month, albeit with our illustrious company usually coming from less far afield, so please do come along either to Carss Park on the second Sunday of the month, or Gough Whitlam Park on the third and join in when you can.
