We’re just back from a pleasant day out in the cars, with our August Early Morning Run held last Sunday the 9th. The weather was forecast to be miserable, but the weather gods were in our favour and provided pleasant sunshine and not a cloud in sight.

We met at the usual starting place – Guildford Train Station car park – at 8am and managed to depart at 8:45am. The drive took us through the Swan Valley and up towards Bullsbrook, turning off just before town to drive up and over an new awesome road to Chittering Valley. We were blessed with no traffic and only two pushbikes for the whole run, so the pace was good and flowed just nice.

Our comfort stop was at the Bakers Hill Pie Shop about an hour and a half later. We spent about half an hour chatting and enjoying a break, and then it was back on the road to the Mount Helena Tavern for a couple of drinks and something to eat for those that were hungry.

We had a great roll-up, including a collection of Elises, Exiges and an Evora, as well as a magic Toyota Crown and a very rare Tommy Kiara.

Wayne of Waynos Fotos Films very kindly made a short film of the day, which you can enjoy below.
