For Sale: 2005 Lotus Elise

I’m rather devastated to have to sell my 2005 Lotus Elise. It’s a fantastic Aubergine colour, gets comments everywhere I go, it really brings out the lines of the Elise.

I’ve owned the car for about 4 years and have put a reasonable amount of kms on it. Has been serviced every year (always less than 5000 kms) and is due for an oil change etc next month.

The car was daily driven by a previous owner, thus the high kms, but it has shown to be reliable and everything works as it should

Details of work performed. Before I owned the car:

  • BKRT shifter (Elise parts?)
  • Front splitter
  • Head gasket
  • 52mm throttle body
  • Heater resistor pack upgraded
  • John Reese exhaust
  • Nitron coil overs
  • Braided brake lines
  • Exige Y spoke wheels (will include the originals in the sale as well)
  • Hard top with Alcantara lining
  • Exige side scoops
  • All plastic grills replaced with mesh
  • Kirrapak rear diffuser (original can be included with sale)
  • Black front and rear Lotus badges
  • Carbon centre console – the bit between the seats (original again included)
  • Aluminium indicator stalks (Eliseparts i believe)

Parts I have fitted:

  • Eliseparts toe link kit
  • Carbon dash top
  • Carbon instrument cluster binnacle
  • New door hinge bushes
  • Eliseparts PRRT (relocated thermostat)
  • Replaced the intake manifold gasket (and will include a spare) as this is a common leak point
  • AC re-gassed and blows cold
  • Sony double din head unit (yes, it fits well) XAV-AX1000
  • 1 yr ago replaced front discs and pads
  • Narrower footrest, I have big feet and was catching on it – original will also be included
  • 1x flip key, 1x normal with alarm fob, and a 3rd key only
  • Sills covered in microfibre type cloth
  • LED headlights
  • New left fog light
  • SAAS intake

Couple of rough points:

  • At some time it looks like the roof was incorrectly stored and has some paint damage (refer pic)
  • Soft top isn’t perfect internally (it’s a dual layer one and the internal layer is separating)
  • It creaks and makes noise, don’t expect Lexus sophistication, but that’s not what these cars are about
  • Paint isn’t perfect, but stand back a little and it’s still stunning
  • High kms, if that bothers you, but in reality this car gets driven relatively often and that keeps any car fresh and free from troubles
  • Current battery is too large for the battery cover

There is a box of spare parts which will be included with the sale, as will the original wheels, rear splitter, etc. The wheels and some of the larger parts will obviously not fit in the car.

I have removed some of the rubber surrounds around the headlights and side scoops as I thought they were ugly, they are also in the box if you wish to put them back on.

Asking $60,000 ONO.
