The Gerringong Lions Club will hold the Gerringong Motor Fest on Saturday the 18th of February, 2017, on Michael Cronin Oval in Gerringong. The organisers have set aside ten spots for Club Lotus Australia and we’re looking for cars to fill them, as well as a few friends to spend the day with.
Organisers are inviting some very specific vehicles and working to attract unorthodox, collectable and exotic vehicles to show on the day. Vehicles will be shown in categories, with prizes offered for each category.
There are a very limited number of spaces available, around 120, and the Lions Club has very generously offered ten of those to Club Lotus Australia. Entry for participating vehicles, their driver and passenger is free. A small $5 entry fee will apply for everyone else attending the event.
The Lions Club Gerringong is donating all funds raised from the event directly to Childhood Leukaemia, and specifically to a local in need.
The Gerringong monthly market will be held on the same day in the centre of town, just a short walk away, and is well worth a look while you’re in town.
If you are interested in showing your car, please RSVP as soon as possible to Ashton at [email protected]. And even if you don’t plan to show your car, come along to support an exceptionally important cause and enjoy a lovely Saturday.
If you’re looking for some culture to enjoy during the motorsport off season, one of our Club members is working to support a local opera production. Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’ will be performed later this month, from January the 26th through to January the 29th at the wonderful Carriageworks venue.
The performances will be held at 7:30PM on Thursday the 26th, Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th and at 4PM on Sunday the 29th. The Saturday performance will coincide with the Carriageworks night markets, making for a wonderful double-header!
Ticket pricing and information is yet to be confirmed, but should be available on the Opera Projects Sydney website or Carriageworks website soon.
Concours d’Elegance Sydney is the latest iteration of the Australian Concours d’Elegance, which first ran back in 2010 at St. Patrick’s Estate in Manly. It will be held this year on the 26th of January at Darling Wharf in Pyrmont.
The event is one of 25 worldwide International Chief Judge Advisory Group concours events and will be judged against ICJAG criteria. Three ICJAG judges, each with experience judging the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, will head the judging team.
Concours d’Elegance Sydney is looking for classic cars 30 years old and older to take part in its Concours d’Elegance, which will feature both cars and bikes. If you’re interested in attending or entering your car, you can download an entry form, class listing and timeline of the event’s history from the following links:
